Politeia's 'Safeguarding Sovereignty' becomes law

On 19 July 2011, the European Union Act 2011 became law. It 'confirms the principle that Parliament is sovereign' (source), a clause based on the arguments in Politeia's Safeguarding Sovereignty (Martin Howe, QC, with a foreword by William Hague). It argued that Parliament, not the EU, should remain sovereign, and consequently that all new EU laws must be subject to Parliament’s approval.
